Christmas Hedgehog Craft for Kids
What color Christmas lights do you decorate your tree and home with for the holidays? I was raised to be on “Team Warm White Christmas Lights,” but am considering investing in strands of vintage-inspired colored lights for our Christmas tree next year—just for something different!
Until then, I will decorate my Christmas hedgehog craft in a joyful rainbow of glittered colors! How will you decorate yours?

How to Make This Easy Craft
This easy paper hedgehog craft is perfect for crafters of all ages. Follow the instructions below to learn how to make it.
STEP 1: Download and print the Christmas Hedgehog Craft Template. Our craft template is available in our Teachers Pay Teachers shop! After purchasing the template, download it to your device and then print it on white cardstock. The PDF files include a blank hedgehog template, as well as files to create a Christmas card. We even included a selection of paper wiggly eyes so kids can design their own hedgehog.
STEP 2: Color the hedgehog and holiday lights templates. Use markers, crayons, or colored pencils to color the patterns. We used our favorite Crayola washable glitter paint to add a little sparkle.

STEP 3: Cut the templates. Use scissors to cut apart the hedgehog body, card template, and lights.
STEP 4: Put the craft together. Secure each Christmas light to the hedgehog’s body with glue as pictured below. If you wish to turn your craft into a holiday card, glue the top of the hedgehog’s body to the second template that contains the text “Happy Hog-i-days!” We also included a template that reads “Merry Christmas!”
If you are using the blank templates, you may wish to add plastic wiggly eyes and a pom pom nose to your hedgehog.
STEP 5: Enjoy the craft. Your hedgehog craft is complete! Use tape to hang the hedgehog to the refrigerator, a door, or your classroom walls, or enjoy gifting them to friends, family, or neighbors.
