Just in time for Easter, kids can learn how to make a colorful Yarn Wrapped Easter Egg Craft at school or home.
Yarn Wrapped Easter Egg Craft
Kids of all ages will love this easy and fun Yarn Wrapped Easter Egg Craft. We used soft color changing yarn in vibrant, spring colors, but any yarn scraps you have laying around in your craft cabinet will work great.
My youngest son has dyspraxia and displays difficulty coordinating wrist movements. Winding the yarn around the cardboard egg and stringing the beads was great practice for him, with a beautiful end result.
To Make This Craft You Will Need
Directions
After gathering supplies, invite your child to trace the shape of an Easter egg onto the cardboard. Cut out the egg, then cut small slits around the outside of it.

Pull a long piece of yarn through a slit, then invite your child to begin wrapping the yarn around the outside of the cardboard egg.
Invite kids to wrap their yarn in all different directions. As they wrap their yarn, invite them to string colorful beads along the way.
When kids are finished wrapping their yarn, use hot glue to secure a loop of yarn to the back. We also used hot glue to secure the end of our yarn to the back of the egg.
Repeat, using a new color!
We hung up our Yarn Wrapped Eggs on our Easter tree. They look lovely!
