Ingredients
For the Strawberry Filling
5cupsstrawberrieshulled and sliced
1/3cupgranulated sugar
1 tbspcornstarch
1tspvanilla extract
1/2tsplemon zest
For the Crisp Topping
3/4cuprolled oats
1/2cupall-purpose flour
1/2cuplight brown sugarpacked
1/2tspcinnamon
1/4tspsalt
1/2cupunsalted buttermelted
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease an 8x8-inch (or similar-sized) baking dish.
Make the strawberry filling: In a large bowl, toss the sliced strawberries with sugar, cornstarch, vanilla extract, and lemon zest. Stir until well combined, then spread evenly in the prepared baking dish.
Prepare the crisp topping: In a separate bowl, mix oats, flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Pour in the melted butter and stir until the mixture becomes crumbly.
Assemble and bake: Evenly sprinkle the crisp topping over the strawberry filling. Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the filling is bubbly.
Cool and serve: Let the crisp cool for about 10 minutes before serving. Enjoy warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream.
Notes
For a thicker, more jam-like filling, use 2 to 3 tablespoons of cornstarch in your strawberry crisp.
