Shamrock Wreath Directions
Sprinkle some Irish luck onto your walls, doors, or refrigerator with our paper Shamrock Wreath! Follow the directions below to learn how to make it.
STEP 1: Download and print the Shamrock Wreath Template. After downloading the free template, print it on white paper or cardstock. Each child will need one copy.
We opted to print the wreath base on green cardstock, but you are welcome to print it on white cardstock for your child to decorate.
STEP 2: Color the shamrock and gold coin templates. Use washable paint, markers, crayons, or colored pencils to color the patterns. We used our favorite Crayola Washable Kids Paint in the colors Green, Granny Smith Apple, and Gold. We topped the large shamrocks with a layer of Crayola Glitter Medium for a little extra holiday fun!
Alternatively, you could trace the templates on festive scrapbook paper, construction paper, fabric, or felt.
STEP 3: Cut the templates. When the paint is dry, use scissors to cut apart the pieces. Be sure to help or give young kids a little more time for this step. Older children will want to cut their own template out all by themselves.
STEP 5: Glue on the ribbon. Make a bow and glue it onto the bottom or top of your wreath. Make a small loop of ribbon and glue it onto the back of the wreath so it can be hung. Alternatively, you could use strips of fabric instead of ribbon.
STEP 6: Your Shamrock Wreath is complete! Kids will enjoy showing off their cute St. Patrick’s Day decoration to friends and family!
