Rainbow Tissue Paper Craft Directions
This craft is perfect for a fun-filled afternoon of crafting and bonding together! Follow the directions below to learn how to make it.
STEP 1: Download and print the Rainbow Template. After downloading the free rainbow template, print it on white paper or cardstock. Each child will need one copy.
STEP 2: Cut out the rainbow. Use scissors to cut out the rainbow pattern. Little hands may need some extra help with this part!
STEP 3: Glue down the tissue paper squares. Starting with the red tissue paper, glue down each piece of tissue paper in rainbow order. We used a classic technique that is often taught in grade school:
- Wrap a tissue paper square around a pencil eraser.
- Squeeze a drop of glue onto the tissue paper.
- Press the tissue paper onto your template and lift the pencil.
Alternatively, kids can squeeze a thin line of glue down the center of each section and press the tissue paper directly onto it.
STEP 4: Continue. Continue covering your rainbow shape with tissue paper. When you get to the end of the rainbow, cover the puffy clouds with white tissue paper. If desired, glue a loop of ribbon to the top of the rainbow to hang it up!
STEP 6: Your craft is finished! Kids of all ages will enjoy showing off their fun rainbow project to friends and family.
