Popsicle Stick Strawberry Directions
Once you’ve gathered your supplies, follow the simple steps below to make the craft.
STEP 1: Print the free template. Start by downloading and printing the craft template. Access the materials by clicking the link in the supplies list. Print the materials on white and green cardstock.
STEP 2: Make the popsicle stick base. Next, position 6 wide popsicle sticks next to each other. Hot glue two standard-sized popsicle sticks to the top, as pictured below.
STEP 3: Paint the popsicle sticks. Once the glue has dried, turn the popsicle stick base over and paint the front side red.
STEP 4: Cut out your strawberry tops and words. While the paint is drying, use scissors to cut out the leaves (or calyx) and text.
STEP 5: Attach the strawberry top, photo, and text. Next, glue everything to the popsicle stick base as pictured below.
STEP 6: Make the dots. Did you know that the yellowish-white dots on a strawberry are called achenes? To make them, lightly dip your last wide popsicle stick into yellow acrylic paint, then dot it onto your strawberry around the leaves, photo, and text. Make sure you hold the popsicle stick so it makes a vertical line—not a horizontal line.
STEP 7. Enjoy your craft! Let the yellow paint dry, then enjoy your finished craft!
