Caramel Apple Craft Directions
Transform apples into works of art with our caramel apple craft. Follow the video tutorial and step-by-step instructions below to learn how to make it.
STEP 1: Cut the apples. First, head to the grocery store, apple farm, or your local farmer’s market to grab some large, fresh apples for this craft. Granny Smith apples and Gala apples are perfect!
Next, use a knife to cut the apples in half so that each apple stamp has a top and bottom.
STEP 2: Paint the apples. Pour brown, green, red, and yellow paint onto a paper plate. Invite your child to paint the top of the apple slice with brown wavy lines to emulate dripping caramel sauce. Paint the bottom half of the apple red, green, or yellow.
STEP 3: Stamp the apple. Now for the best part! Firmly press the painted apple onto a piece of cardstock paper. Kids think this part is so much fun! Lift the apple to reveal the apple shape left on the paper!
STEP 4: Fill in the gaps (optional). Paint any gaps on the apple print by dabbing them with a cotton swab dipped in paint. The end result should be a whole caramel apple on the paper.
STEP 5: Make the sprinkles. Make the sprinkles for your caramel apple by using shredder scissors to cut colored cardstock into small strips. Scatter the sprinkles over the wet, brown paint or glue them on if your paint has dried.

STEP 6: Add the candy apple sticks. Glue wooden craft sticks (popsicle sticks) from the craft store to the bottom of each apple print.
STEP 7: Your Caramel Apple Craft is complete! Kids will enjoy showing off their cute candy apples to friends and family or decorating their school’s fall bulletin boards!
When craft time is over, rinse the apples and then dispose of them in your compost bin.
