Building with sticks and playdough is a fun, inexpensive way to pass the time, develop fine motor skills, and foster creativity. My youngest son enjoyed this just as much as building with playdough and straws!

Building with Sticks and Playdough
Believe it or not, our “sticks” are actually a combination of twigs found on the ground and dry, woody stems from our hostas. The hosta stems are lightweight and easy to break. Since they do not have bark, the playdough is left clean and wood-free!
Small plastic animals and vehicles make a great play accessory! My son built a structure, a walkway, and a playdough/twig car! He played for several hours!
When playtime is over, be sure to save the sticks so you can make Twig Stars!
