It’s just that time of year.
You know…that time of year when you pick up an extra bottle of foaming hand sanitizer to donate to your child’s class. That time of year you stock up on tissues, saltines, and soup, and then dust off the cool-mist humidifier.
That time of year you actually begin to use the cart-sanitizing wipes at Target and ask the kids to wash their hands when they walk through the front door after school.
It’s just that time of year.

Something I do every winter is make a fresh batch of DIY Vapor Rub. It’s smooth, creamy, and may help support a healthy respiratory system. This petroleum-free rub is safe for children ages 2 and up.
Young Living SniffleEase™, the essential oil featured in this rub, is a rejuvenating and refreshing blend formulated just for kids. It contains Eucalyptus blue, Palo santo wood oil, Lavender, Dorado azul seed oil, Ravintsara, Myrtle, Marjoram, Pine, Eucalyptus citriodora oil, Cypress, Eucalyptus radiata leaf oil, Black spruce, and Peppermint.

DIY Vapor Rub for Kids
Vapor rub is fun and easy to make at home for family and friends. It takes about 5 minutes, and 1 jar is often enough to last through the season.
Materials:
- 30–40 drops Young Living SniffleEase™
- 1/2 cup carrier oil (fractionated coconut oil, jojoba oil, olive oil, or sweet almond oil)
- 2 tablespoons of beeswax pastilles
- 4 oz amber glass jar
Directions:
- Stir the beeswax and carrier oil together over low heat until just melted. Remove from heat.
- Add the SniffleEase™ and stir the mixture with a toothpick.
- Pour the melted vapor rub into a 4 oz amber glass jar.
- Allow the vapor rub to harden completely (about 2 hours).
- To use, scoop out a small amount and rub into the chest, back, and the bottoms of feet.
Snuggle often, and reapply as needed!
