Yesterday afternoon, the boys were playing “King and Knight of New Hampshire.” Of course, my oldest declared himself King and requested a crown! His little brother gave him a bucket to wear on his head and we laughed, and laughed, and laughed, as there really is nothing sillier than a King wearing a Bucket Crown! As the boys played, I sat down in the grass and noticed that the abundant growth of Dandelions, Wild Violets, and Forget-Me-Nots did make our yard look rather kingdomly. Did I remember how to make Flower Chain Crowns?
I sure did! The King cheered as I placed a golden Dandelion Crown onto his head, then sat down to take his place on a stone throne.
How to Make Flower Chain Crowns for Imaginative Play
Here is a step-by-step tutorial so you can learn how to make a Flower Chain Crown for the little King or Queen in your life!
1. Collect flowers with long stems (Daises and Dandelions work very well). Place two flowers side by side.
2. Loop the stem of the second flower underneath the first flower’s stem.
3. Bring the stem of the second flower around the front of the first flower’s head.
4. If desired, weave other flowers through the dandelions to create a Queen’s Crown!
As Mommy, you are automatically Queen. No questions asked!

Wow your flower crown is way better than mine turned out last weekend. I was not a queen, but Princess Fiona for my little Shrek! =) Thank you for spreading JOY and sharing at the Oh What a HAPPY Day party.
